Why Did God Choose The Jews?

Why did God single out one man, Abraham, to be the father of many nations? Why were the Jews God's chosen people? Did some things on that prompted God to go in this direction? Yes, some things did. The disobedience in the Garden of Eden, angels leaving their habitation to have sex with women producing giants (Nephilim) and the Tower of Babel are 3 great examples of mankind's rebellion against the one true God.
